Who are the Chamber Ambassadors?

The Ambassador Program is the largest standing committee within the Chamber and consists of volunteers from the Chamber membership who donate their time to assist the Chamber in various activities. They are the backbone of the Chamber volunteer force. Ambassadors serve a term of one year (from application date). Ambassadors can continue to serve after their one-year term if agreed upon by the Ambassador Leadership and the Chamber’s CEO. 

Our Mission

It is the mission of the Rancho Cordova Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Program to promote member commitment and retention by:
  • Raising awareness of Chamber activities and benefits
  • Informing and involving new Chamber members to promote strong continuing membership
  • Encouraging meaningful and beneficial participation in the Chamber's programs
  • Serving as a liaison between the Chamber Staff, Board Members, and Membership

  • Have decision-making authority and a minimum of 6 months employed with a Chamber business member/Chamber member
  • Memberships in good standings of 6 months
  • Must exhibit professionalism in all business and Chamber activities.
  • Must be able to make a commitment of time and effort toward goal/accomplishments of the Rancho Cordova Chamber and Ambassador program
  • Complete an Ambassador Application and submit to Ambassador Chair (employer’s signature is required if not self-employed)
  • Complete a 90 day “Ambassador Training and Trial” period
  • Complete an interview process

Ambassador Expectations

  • Be a member of the Chamber, in good standing, for a minimum of 6 months.
  • Represent the Rancho Cordova Chamber of Commerce in a professional manner.
  • Promote the value of Chamber membership within the community.
  • Support Chamber membership with member leads and referrals.
  • Actively recruit prospective members and support retention of existing members.
  • Attend and participate at monthly Ambassador meetings (usually the 2nd Monday of the month). Meetings start on time promptly at 8:00 a.m., please be on time. If unable to attend, contact the Ambassador Chair to notify her/him of your absence. Please limit your absences to 3 per calendar year.
  • Attend and Chamber networking events, ribbon cuttings/grand openings, and other Chamber functions when available. On average, there are no less than two such events each month.
  • Volunteer at major Chamber functions when it is requested and you are available.
  • Help host events; act as a greeter or as needed at Grand Openings, Ribbon Cuttings and other projects.
  • Seek out first time attendees and new members, welcome them at Chamber events.
  • Personally invite members to attend events.
  • Mentor a new Ambassador.
  • Serve on an Ambassador team or committee.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Chamber programs and serve as a source of information to others.
  • Submit monthly point sheets to earn points towards additional Chamber benefits.

Ambassador Code of Conduct

  • Ambassadors must have a strong desire to serve. Although there are rewards for your service, your service requires commitment of time, usually a 1 year term, with no term limits.
  • Ambassador candidates will be interviewed to assure their understanding of the commitment and their ability to keep the commitment (with the support of their employers). Ambassadors are required to sign an annual commitment pledge and Code of Conduct policy during the anniversary month.
  • Ambassadors are volunteer representatives of the Rancho Cordova Chamber of Commerce. As such, Ambassadors are expected to act in a professional manner at all times while serving in the Ambassador role and representing their business.
  • Alcohol is served at many Chamber events. Ambassadors are expected to limit alcoholic beverages to 1 or 2 at Chamber events.
  • Sexual Harassment of staff or volunteers is strictly prohibited.
  • Failure to comply with these rules of conduct will result in termination of the offending Ambassador’s status.

Ambassador Leadership Positions

Responsible for coordinating with the Chamber’s CEO and staff, leading the monthly meetings, overseeing the team’s leadership, and supporting the Ambassador team to success.

Assistant-Chair #1:
Successor to the Chair position and is responsible for organizing Ambassador support for Chamber events and overseeing the Ambassador Mentor Program.

Assistant-Chair #2:  
Successor to Assistant Chair #1 position and is responsible for taking minutes at our monthly meetings and overseeing the Ambassador Point Program.

Responsible for maintaining the Ambassador Fund balance and organizing Ambassador Team donations when requested.

Social Team (2 members): 
Responsible for sending cards to Ambassadors, Board Members, Staff, and other Chamber Affiliates (i.e. get well, congrats, etc.) as well as organizing Ambassador team social events.

Professional Development Coordinators (2 members):
Responsible for determining current and anticipated professional development needs and coordinate such training for our Ambassador team.
